We often get asked where to find free high quality stock photos for websites. Photography can make a good site look great, so it’s important to select engaging imagery. Pexels is one of our favorite sites to get stock photos available for download in several different sizes. Every image is under the Pexels license so you can use them for free for personal and commercial purposes, and attribution is not required. They show you similar photos as you search, which can come in handy when choosing the perfect image. They also provide related tag words that we use for inspiration when searching for a photo related to a specific genre.
Unsplash
Unsplash has high-resolution photos brought to you by a generous community of photographers. Because of this, there’s a nice mix of beautiful images and your run of the mill stock photos that are well organized and easily searchable. All photos are free and can be used for commercial and noncommercial purposes. One thing we really like are the tags below the individual images helping make it super easy to filter through and jump around while staying on theme.
Pixabay
Pixabay is an awesome community of contributors, all sharing copyright-free images, illustrations, vector graphics and videos. We love this site for its diverse content and the feature to sort through images from a specific artist/creator that we like. They also have search filters for requirements such as color, size or orientation.
ISO Republic
This is another one of our favorite sites to find really unique, beautiful stock photos. A lot of the photos on ISO Republic are ones we don’t typically see on any other site, which is refreshing. And there are thousands to sort through, which they make super easy with the help of categories and showing you related or similar content. They have free, high resolution videos available for download too.
MMT
MMT is a super clean, easy to navigate site that provides tons of high-res photos, videos and wallpapers. Its all free and available for you to use in your next personal or commercial project. We love the ease of using this site and the collections of images that are tagged for easy sorting.
